As a concerned resident of Mesa, I have decided to run for Mayor because I believe Mesa needs to improve its financial and operational performance to better serve its citizens. In my opinion, the City government has implemented policies that do not match the priorities of the community. For instance, overspending General Governmental revenues by nearly $1.2 billion since 2009 does not demonstrate fiscal restraint or good stewardship over citizens’ tax dollars.

During the city council budget hearing in June, I along with several other concerned citizens spoke out in opposition to the 2023/2024 budget because it continued the pattern of overspending. The largest budget in the City’s history was unanimously approved by the mayor and 5 council members present. With the encouragement of many friends and neighbors, it became clear to me that it was time to enter the race if I wanted to help the city get back on track and Stop Government Overspending.
